How a sponsorship looks
- Your product shows the same facts as every other card (license, platforms, status, file formats), inside a dashed outline with a Sponsored: how sponsorship works label and your tagline of up to 90 characters.
- It sits in a separate row above the ranked list. Your product keeps its normal place in the ranking, without the badge.
- Clicks go through a counted link; you see the count in your vendor dashboard.
- When both slots on a page are taken, the page shows the next free date and you can join a waitlist.
Sponsorship rules
- The sponsored product must already be in the catalog and must offer a genuinely free product or free tier.
- It must fit the page: an alternative to that paid product, or a tool in the same category. An editor approves every sponsorship before it goes live.
- Products whose status is Stalled or Archived cannot sponsor.
- Sponsored links carry rel="sponsored noopener". The Sponsored badge links to the advertise page, which publishes these rules.
- Sponsorship is never an input to the ranking score.
How buying works
- Sign in with a one-time code sent to your email and verify that you own the product (DNS record, an email on its domain, or a file in its repository).
- Pick the page, preview your card with the Sponsored badge, and pay with Stripe. The slot is held for 30 minutes while you pay.
- An editor reviews it within 24 hours. The 30 days start when it is approved, and you get an email with the dates.
- If it is rejected and not fixed within 7 days, the payment is refunded in full.
- 3 days before the end you get an email with a one-click link to renew. Otherwise it ends automatically.
